Step-by-Step Instructions
Power Off and Remove Bottom Screws
Power off your device completely. Remove the two Pentalobe screws next to the Lightning port.
Never puncture or bend the battery - lithium-ion batteries can catch fire.
Open the Device
Use the suction cup and plastic pick to carefully separate the display from the rear case. Open the display like a book, hinging from the right side.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the bracket covering the battery connector using the Y000 screwdriver. Disconnect the battery connector with a plastic spudger.
Remove Adhesive Tabs
The battery is held in place by adhesive pull tabs. Slowly pull each tab at a 45-degree angle to stretch and release the adhesive. If a tab breaks, apply isopropyl alcohol to dissolve the remaining adhesive.
Pull tabs slowly and steadily. If you rush, they will break.
Install New Battery
Apply new adhesive strips to the back of the replacement battery. Position the battery carefully and press firmly to secure the adhesive. Reconnect the battery connector and replace the bracket.
Reassemble
Close the display and reinstall the bottom Pentalobe screws. Power on and verify battery health in Settings > Battery.
